Marianne Hill – Lead Trainer

Marianne Hill – Lead Trainer

Marianne is the founder and director of Healing The Shadow and is present on all training weekends

I believe that becoming a confident and competent practitioner requires a journey into radical self-love, self-acceptance, self-care and self-compassion. At the same time it requires a constant turning towards one’s own shadows - the dark roots of one’s psyche - and a meeting of oneself in this place.

To be truly trusted with another’s heart and soul one must know one’s own heart and soul - both the light and the dark.

Ten years ago, when I started to engage with my own personal journey of emotional healing with Marianne Hill, I was initially struck by the power and effectiveness of the work, and later by the desire to bring it to as many other people as possible. Taking the Healing The Shadow training course seemed a natural way forward and this fabulous two year training – thorough, broad reaching and deep – has enabled me to offer to others the professional, highly effective, safe and shame free sessions that I have benefitted from myself over the years.

My way of working is always to be client centred and client led, to allow the client to lead the journey of self-development, to be a companion and expert guide on the path that they follow, and to provide the support, encouragement and safe holding necessary for them to explore the deeper, darker parts of themselves. In this way, they can bring conscious light and healing to their oldest wounds, allowing them to grow and mature into a life of meaning and joy.

Rod is our Healing The Shadow Elder. He supports Marianne in assessing the trainees and offers mentorship and guidance

I’ve been involved in the world of psychotherapy, counselling and emotional healing for more than 20 years now.

Over that time, I’ve come to see how a number of basic principles run through all the work I’ve engaged in with my clients, whether working one-to-one individually or in groups.
